Handcrafted Creations, Inc. has been producing fine home, lodge, and cabin furnishings for more than a decade.
Our company produces Aspen Log Furniture and also has an extensive gift and accent line.
Our high quality craftsmanship and artistic designs flow together to produce fine handmade products of exceptional value.
All Aspen wood used in our products is dead standing wood, and is harvested in an environmentally conscious way.
Dresser carcasses and drawers are constructed of kiln-dried, Northern White Pine. Drawer bottoms and backs of dressers are made from select hardwoods.
Drawer Construction - We use dado and rabbet joints throughout. Runners and slides for drawers are epoxy coated and carry a lifetime warranty. Using this runner and slide system provides smooth and easy drawer operation.
Tops of dressers, nightstands, end tables, etc. are solid Aspen wood and are a hefty two inches thick. A natural edge is left to all outside edges.
Drawer fronts are plain sawed, this leaves a natural edge to the top and bottom and exposes the grain. When selecting wood for our drawer fronts and tops, we pay particular attention to wood coloration and grain, and harvest special trees for them.
Log corners and knobs are made from small Aspen trees.
Finish on our furniture - We start by first applying a sealer, then a top coat of lacquer is applied. This process brings out the Aspen wood's uniquely attractive grain and naturally enhances each piece.
Log Beds and End Tables
These products are constructed using mortise and tenon joints, this gives each piece great strength. The Aspen wood used in constructing our beds has character on the headboard and footboard unlike other log furniture you may see.
We go to great lengths in harvesting wood for our beds, so the end result will be an exquisite piece. Bed wood is dried, fumigated and sanded thoroughly, leaving behind only what nature has created. Our log beds are designed to fit around your existing metal frame.
Aspen Quaking - Populous Tremuloides
Aspen trees can be found growing throughout the northeastern, northern and western parts of the United States as far north as Alaska.
The Aspen trees used in producing our products are dead standing trees.
In harvesting these trees, we look for character, this character is created by Mother Nature and elk feeding on the tree when it is alive. Aspen trees have a short life span and die off just before approaching full growth.
